Program Notes:
Der Doppelgänger contrasts textural and rhythmic sections, featuring either massed duplications of the contrabassoon, or imitative games with a single virtual partner. It was premeried at the Aspen Underground, an electroacoustic music concert unaffiliated with the Aspen Music Festival, but organized by festival staff and community members interested in more experimental repertoire.
